Hi,
I’m Gareth, and I’ve got a story that’s like a beautiful puzzle piece in a larger picture. My life changed when my incredible twin boys, Lennon and Leo, came into it. They’re the reason I work, breathe, and embrace each day.
One day, I noticed that Lennon and Leo weren’t progressing as expected. Milestones were missed, and something just didn’t feel right. They began to lose eye contact and showed certain behaviors. Lennon walked on his toes, expressed excitement through sounds and hand movements, while Leo jumped and repeated sounds. Sleep was elusive, and life felt like a puzzle with missing pieces.
A specialist diagnosed them with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This discovery added a new piece to the puzzle. I immersed myself in learning, exploring therapies, medications, diets, and treatments. Autism’s complexity became evident, and I realised that Lennon, Leo, and people with autism deserve all the support they can get.
This journey sparked a question: What supplement could aid with brain health, particularly in South Africa? The answer was “NALEO.” Collaborating with specialists, Delfran crafted a supplement that combines quality ingredients with scientific research. NALEO aims to fill possible nutritional gaps, enhance and support brain health and contribute to normal growth and development.
“Lennon, Leo, and people with autism have shown me that love transcends words.”
Why NALEO™ SPECTRUM?
Our Formulation
Delfran acknowledges the dynamic development of the brain and nervous systems. That’s why we’ve meticulously crafted this nutritional supplement with a combination of well-researched nutrients to support brain health together with healthy growth and development.
Our formulation distinguishes itself through its carefully curated ingredients, selected with our team of experts. In addition to providing essential vitamins and minerals for overall health and well-being, our formula boasts the following key ingredients:
Acetyl-L-carnitine:
Research suggests that supplementing with L-carnitine may support cognitive and behavioral functions, contributing to overall brain health and mental clarity.[1,2].
Choline:
An essential nutrient, choline is known to play a vital role in supporting proper neurological and brain development, which may benefit memory and learning.[3].
Coenzyme Q10:
With its antioxidant properties, Coenzyme Q10 may offer neuroprotective benefits, supporting brain health by helping to combat oxidative stress. [4].
Inositol:
Inositol interacts with serotonin pathways, which may play a role in mood regulation. Its involvement as a second messenger in serotonin signaling suggests potential benefits for mental well-being. [5].
MSM:
Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) may contribute to maintaining healthy inflammation levels within the body. This micronutrient is known to be well-tolerated and has been investigated for its potential benefits in addressing various conditions related to inflammation, physical function, and performance [6].
Folate:
Folate is a supporter of the development and functioning of a healthy nervous system, possibly influencing cognitive functions like learning and memory [7].
N-Acetyl L-Cysteine (NAC):
NAC is being explored for its possible role in maintaining balanced mental and neurological function, including support for mental clarity and focus.[8,9].
Turmeric/Curcumin:
Curcumin, present in turmeric, functions as an antioxidant that supports appropriate inflammatory responses within the body. Multiple clinical trials have substantiated the potential efficacy of curcumin in addressing various neurodegenerative diseases [10].
Bioperine:
Bioperine, an extract from black pepper and a prominent bioactive compound, enhances nutrient absorption, potentially optimising the utilisation of various essential nutrients [11].
Other ingredients and possible benefits:
Vitamin A:
May be essential for brain function, especially in learning and memory. Deficiency in vitamin A could significantly impair cognitive abilities [12].
Vitamin B:
Neurotropic B vitamins may contribute to maintaining a healthy nervous system [13].
Vitamin C:
Deficiency in Vitamin C can directly impact brain function, particularly during developmental stages [14].
Vitamin D:
Vitamin D is essential for overall health and cognitive function, and maintaining optimal levels supports neurological health and mental well-being. [15].
Vitamin E:
Vitamins E and C are known for their antioxidant properties, which may offer protective effects against age-related cognitive changes [16].
Vitamin H (Biotin):
Biotin is linked to improved cognitive performance, potentially supporting verbal skills and learning capacity [17].
Vitamin K:
Recent studies highlight Vitamin K’s possible protective effects on neural cells and its role in maintaining normal neural development [18].
Calcium:
Has shown to serve as a universal messenger for extracellular signals, possibly regulating neuronal functions and contributing to long-term processes like memory [19].
Chromium:
Chromium supplementation may support cognitive function, particularly in maintaining focus and cognitive control [20].
Iodine:
Iodine is essential for thyroid hormone production, which influences brain development, learning, and cognitive function [21].
Magnesium:
Magnesium is fundamental to brain activity, supporting a balanced mood and optimal cognitive performance [22].
Selenium:
Selenium’s antioxidant properties may support brain health by helping to slow age-related cognitive decline [23].
Zinc:
May be crucial for the development of the central nervous system, affecting the roles of proteins, enzymes, hormones, and growth factors that guide stem cell behavior in neurodevelopment [24].
